Looking for Ground Cover Ideas for Our Overgrown Front Yard

Hey everyone! My husband and I are really struggling to keep our front yard in check. It's always overgrown and packed with weeds, and we just don't have the time to maintain a traditional lawn. I'm thinking of removing the grass in the fall and switching to a ground cover plant instead. The only problem is, I can't find many pictures online of this in suburban areas to convince my husband. Has anyone tried this? I would love to see some pictures for inspiration and any advice you might have!

Creeping phlox is another fantastic ground cover you should consider. You can easily find images online to get some good ideas, and it looks lovely when paired with low-maintenance shrubs and sedges. You might also want to check out r/nolawns for more specialized advice!

If you don’t have an HOA, that opens up a lot of options! There are various types of clover that can work well for you, and you could even think about planting all native wildflowers for a colorful garden. It would be beautiful and low maintenance, but I understand that budget can be a concern.

You might want to consider a clover yard! It provides a nice green look and requires pretty minimal maintenance. Plus, it’s a great option if you're looking for something that can help with weeds too.
