I've got a double pane window that's cracked, and I thought I could just get the insulated glass unit (IGU) and replace it from inside my house. However, I'm starting to think that the glazing bead might actually be on the outside, especially since the trim inside is really tough to remove. Here's a close-up shot of the frame for reference: https://imgur.com/a/Wh7OHqS.

You’re correct that getting to the IGU usually requires access from the outside. If the interior trim is causing issues, it might be better to approach it from the outside. It’s worth double-checking your window’s specific model to see if it has screws or clips that might make it easier to handle.
It depends on your window type. Generally, if the window is designed for replacing the IGU, then you can go ahead and order it, but not all windows allow for that. Some will need a full replacement instead. To really know if you can access it from the inside, you might want to check if the glazing bead is indeed on the outside. Good luck with it!
