Toto Toilets: Drake vs. Aquia – Need Some Guidance!

Hey everyone! I'm diving into the world of Toto toilets for my bathroom renovation and still have a few questions after sifting through some previous posts. I've heard the Drake is the top pick, yet it's the cheapest option out there. Why is that? My main priority is getting a skirted toilet since I'm all about keeping things clean. Looks don't matter to me that much, and I'm okay with either a one-piece or two-piece model as my contractor said either would work. Also, when comparing the Legato and Nexus, are they just different in appearance, or is there more to it? They both have the tornado flush, which I like, but I'm curious since it's not going to see heavy traffic. I read that the Aquia has gotten some positive feedback recently, but I'm a bit doubtful since it's about $200 less than the Legato. Just to add, I'm sticking with Toto for now, though my contractor mentioned Kohler as an option too. I had my eye on a Grohe toilet, but I heard parts could be tricky to replace. Would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks in advance!

I have the 1.28 gpm Drake in my master bath and it’s amazing! I’m even thinking about replacing my one-piece Kohler Cimmarron in the guest bath with another Drake because it keeps itself so clean and doesn’t have those mold-friendly edges. I’ve heard the Drake II came out, which might explain the lower price, possibly making way for a newer model. Either way, I really recommend the Drake!

I've got the Drake in my remodel and bought it from Costco – it's fantastic! Nothing sticks to it, so it’s definitely worth the price. In contrast, I have a wall-mounted Toto in another bathroom, and I've had some issues with stuff sticking due to the low water level. So I really stand by the Drake.

Yeah, I had similar problems with my freestanding Toto too and ended up swapping it out for a Kohler.

I hear you on that! A wall mount can definitely be hit or miss depending on the setup.
