Mysterious High-Pitched Whistle Every 10 Minutes – Need Help!

I've been experiencing a high-pitched whistle in my home that occurs every 10 to 11 minutes. It lasts roughly 3 seconds. This noise happens between about 11 AM and 7:30 PM, and it's not coming from the basement or outside. Interestingly, our neighbors don't hear it, just my husband and I, so it's definitely not tinnitus. We've even disconnected our smoke alarms, but the sound persists from one side of our small house. I'm starting to wonder if it might be related to our sump pump—perhaps as the temperature rises, it causes some kind of expansion in the pipes? If anyone has any insight or suggestions, I would really appreciate it!

Hey there! I had a similar issue before. It turned out my sump pump was dry, and it would cycle regularly, causing that high-pitched noise. I just added some water to the pump well and the sound went away! Might be worth checking if yours is dry too.

That's an interesting thought! They mentioned it happens even when there's no power, so maybe the sump has a backup battery?
