Hey everyone! I'm a 27-year-old guy who's recently become fascinated with cacti and succulents—I've got no experience with plants but I'm really eager to learn. I'm looking for some cool succulents that are super easy to take care of and don't require much light. I'm already a fan of zebra plants and snake plants, but I also heard prickly pear cacti are tough. I'm heading to a place tomorrow with tons of options, and they'll help me repot the plants, so I'm ready to go! Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Hey! It’s awesome that you’re diving into the world of succulents! For low-light options, snake plants are pretty solid, but don’t expect them to thrive without good light. If you're cool with using a grow light, you have more choices! Jades are great beginner plants and can be shaped nicely over time. I also recommend aloes and kalanchoes like copper spoons—they're unique and pretty forgiving. Just remember, a south-facing window can be your best friend, but grow lights can really help if you don’t have enough natural light! Welcome to the succulent hobby—it's rewarding!
I totally get where you're coming from! Both pickle plants and gollum jade are fantastic options. They look super unique and are generally pretty low-maintenance. Just make sure you have well-draining soil and a pot with drainage holes. And keep an eye on watering—let the soil dry out completely in between. You’ve got this!

And just a heads up, when you get your new succulents, make sure to acclimate them slowly to any new lighting conditions! They can get sunburned if it’s too much too soon.
