I have a problem with the sheet metal siding on my mobile home from the 80s. It's come loose, creating a big gap. The previous owner seemed to have just used wood screws and a ton of silicone to patch things up, but now it looks pretty bad. I'm wondering if using EDPA screws is the best solution? Also, what should I put between the sheets to stop water from getting in? Thanks in advance!

Definitely go for EDPA screws! They’re often found labeled as pole barn or metal roofing screws, and they come in a variety of colors that might match your home. I've found that screws with a pinpoint tip work better for holding into wood sheathing than self-tapping ones. Plus, keep your screws short to avoid hitting any wires or plumbing in those narrow wall cavities. Good luck with your repair!

Thanks for the tip! Should I add anything between the overlapping sheets of metal? Maybe a rubber dam or just some silicone?
