Can I Use a Generic 2.5″ Hose with a Festool Vacuum?

Hey everyone! I'm thinking about getting a Festool CT 25, but I'm wondering if I can connect a generic 2.5" Ridgid hose to it for general shop clean-up. My Ridgid hose is 20 feet long, so I'd like to keep the vacuum in one place. I noticed the hose plugs into the top of the CT series, so I know it won't be portable like that. Any insights?

Totally! Any 2.5” hose should work just fine with the Festool vacuum. Just be mindful that the Festool hoses are known for their quality and anti-static features.

If you have access to a 3D printer, it's super easy to make an adapter to fit your generic hose to the Festool vacuum. You might even find pre-made designs on sites like Thingiverse. Plus, there are companies that make knockoff hoses similar to Festool's—just check out Mr Nozzle, though I’m not sure if they’re still making them.

Just a heads up, Festool hoses come in various sizes like 22mm, 36mm, and 50mm, so the adapter might require some specific measurements. But honestly, I haven't had any static issues while using my vacuum, even in humid conditions.
