Hey everyone! I'm a young engineering researcher trying to find a good brand of tung oil for a prototype I'm making. I've read that some products marketed as tung oil are actually not pure, like Minwax, which has left me skeptical. I've also heard mixed reviews about Hope's 100% pure tung oil. Can anyone recommend some brands that actually deliver what they promise? Thanks a lot!

Just a tip: if you see terms like 'finish' or 'quick drying' on the label, it's likely mixed with other ingredients. Look for something labeled 'pure' to be safe. Checking the MSDS can also help confirm what’s in it.
I use the Wood River brand from WoodCraft, and I've got no complaints either. It's been solid for my needs!
I recommend Bumblechutes pure Tung Oil. I mixed it with mineral spirits and some Real Milk Paint outdoor defense oil, and it worked out great for my garden projects. No issues whatsoever!
I've been using Hope's and it seriously hasn't let me down. I think the people who had bad experiences expected something different. It's pure tung oil, just as advertised!

That's what I thought too! Some might confuse it with a varnish, which can be misleading.
