What’s Your Go-To Method for Keeping Weeds at Bay?

I've been gardening for a decade now, and I'm looking for everyone's best tips to keep those pesky weeds away. I've tried almost everything out there except for using black plastic. Is that really the only thing that works?

I've actually experimented a bit with just saying 'screw it' and not weeding much. I planted some pumpkins and other stuff in my messy front yard, and honestly, they're doing great! Not super pretty, but my plants are thriving without much fuss. Sometimes you just gotta let nature take its course!

Black plastic hasn’t really worked out for me either. What I find easiest is to spend just a few minutes each day pulling any new weeds as they pop up in the spring. It's a small task that really pays off, and once you get through that initial wave, it feels way more manageable!

I space my plants out a bit so I can till between them. I just run the tiller through to mix in the weeds, plus I pull the ones that are really close to the plants. It keeps things manageable and helps with weed control.
