Has anyone worked with Merbau wood? Tips for tannin removal?

Hey there! I'm curious if anyone here has experience with Merbau wood. I've come across some info that says it contains a lot of tannins which can bleed out. I'm looking for alternative methods to remove these tannins without using a tannin remover. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Yeah, Merbau is commonly used for decking in Australia, but it definitely has its challenges due to the tannin bleed. I built a deck using it and had good results scrubbing the boards with Napisan—hopefully, you have a similar product over by you. Just a heads-up, any offcuts can stain if they get wet! Are you using it for something specific?

Thanks for the tip! I'm planning to turn it into a wand. Do you think using a wood conditioner would help?
