How can I weatherproof my apartment to save on electric bills?

Hey everyone! My partner and I just moved into a new apartment, and we've noticed that the weatherproofing really isn't cutting it. It feels like cold air is just pouring in whenever I unlock the door. I talked to our maintenance, and they put a weatherproofing pad at the top, but the sides are still drafty. I'm hoping to tackle this myself since I want to avoid skyrocketing electric bills. Any tips or products you'd recommend for DIY weatherproofing? I wish I could show you pics, but it seems like I can't add them here.

You might want to grab some weatherstripping tape to seal the gaps around your doors and windows. Those stick-on strips really do help! Also, think about investing in a set of blackout curtains—they’re thick and can help insulate your place during winter.

Thanks for the curtain tip! Do you have recommendations for the stick-on stuff? I'd love to check it out!
