Recommendations for a Quality Drill Bit Set?

Hey everyone! So I messed up my current set of drill bits while drilling metal (don't ask how), and I think it's a sign that I need to upgrade. I'm looking for recommendations on a good set of drill bits that can handle both wood and occasionally metal without falling apart. Any thoughts?

For woodworking, Brad Point bits are fantastic! They provide clean holes and have a center point for accuracy. I bought a great set from Lee Valley, but they can be pricey. One of the best features is being able to replace individual bits instead of needing a whole new set when one gets dull.

I'm definitely leaning towards brad points, but since I need to drill metal sometimes, I’m also considering split tip bits. I already have a good range of other bits but that go-to set always seems to wear out quickly.

I just picked up a set of DeWalt drill bits from Lowe's and I'm really happy with them. It depends on how important the quality is to you though. If you're doing some serious drilling, investing in a better set might be worth it!

Not super important, but I want them to handle wood and occasional metal without getting ruined.

Check out Alpen drill bits! I've been using them for 2-3 years and they outperform many other brands I've tried. Brands like Festool are great too, but the Alpens seem to keep their sharpness longer.
