What’s the Best Way to Deal with Moles in My Yard?

Hey everyone, I'm really struggling with moles in my yard. They've completely overrun both my front and back lawns, and it's gotten so bad that every step seems to crush a tunnel. I initially thought it was under control—just a couple of tunnels—but now they're everywhere! I tried some gummy worm products from Menards, but they didn't work at all. What are the best ways to effectively get rid of these pesky moles?

I highly recommend using the Tomcat mole trap that I got from Amazon a while back—it works wonders! Also, make sure to treat your yard for grubs; the moles are usually digging around for them. Years ago, we mixed castor oil with water and sprayed it throughout our yard, which helped deter them too. You might only have a couple of moles wreaking havoc, so trapping them could make all the difference!

Get a cat! Seriously, they can be great hunters. We let our cat roam the yard, and he took care of the moles pretty quickly. You might want to try it out if you’re open to it!

Just a heads up, the battle with moles can feel endless. They're always coming back since nature has an infinite supply of them. If you try to eliminate their food sources, like grubs or ants, your lawn's health could take a hit. Sometimes it feels like all the fuss over lawns isn’t worth it, just wasting resources and effort!
