I recently noticed a hole under my porch that seems to be home for some chipmunks. I want to seal this hole, but I'd prefer for the chipmunks to vacate before I do so, mainly for humane reasons and to avoid any unpleasant smells from trapped chipmunks. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to coax them out? I'm considering using food or noise, but since the only access to them is through a tiny hole, I'm looking for effective methods.

A live trap could work really well. I used one with peanut butter and bird seed and caught six chipmunks in just a week! It's a humane way to relocate them, so it could be worth trying.
You might want to try building a one-way exit. It’s a simple setup using some wire fencing that allows the chipmunks to leave but not come back. I found some good instructions online for making these one-way doors!
Great idea! I'll look into that.
If there aren’t any babies that need care, think about a spring-loaded style door. It would let them out but prevent them from getting back in. You could use something like hardware cloth that they can see through but can't chew up. Just a thought!

Nice haul! That's impressive!
