What’s the Best Ladder for a 29-Foot Peak Home?

I'm planning to paint my house and need a reliable ladder for both that and cleaning the gutters. The peak of my home is about 29 feet high, and the gutters are at roughly 19 feet but stick out about 3 feet from the house. Currently, I have a 24-foot ladder, but it feels a bit unstable for accessing the gutters. I'm considering investing in a 36-foot Warner aluminum ladder with a top stabilizer, but I'd love to get some opinions on this before I buy. If you can swing it, renting a scissor lift might be a smarter choice, especially if you need to clean the gutters frequently. Just a thought!

That’s true! We’ve got some big poplar trees that make cleaning a regular chore. Gutter guards could help, but I still need something for the height.

Be careful placing ladders against gutters directly. You might want to consider investing in ladder wings or stabilizers to enhance stability.

I've got a 40-foot aluminum ladder, and let me tell you, it’s super heavy! Even though I’m not out of shape, I struggle to maneuver it alone. A 36-foot should be lighter, but if you're smaller or not as strong, keep that in mind!

A 32-foot ladder with a stabilizer bar should be a good choice for your home unless you're unusually short. It'll give you the reach you need without being overly cumbersome.
