Hey everyone, I painted my bathroom not too long ago and attached a light towel bar using one of those sticky adhesive pads. Unfortunately, one side is now peeling away because of a bubble under the paint. I realize I need to resand and repaint the area, but I'm wondering if there's anything else I should do? I'm planning to attach it with screws this time instead. Also, what sandpaper grit should I use for this? Is it just a matter of sanding it flat and applying new paint? We've installed new bathroom fans that vent properly, so I thought the air circulation should help. I used special bathroom paint, so I'm puzzled about why the moisture from showers caused this issue. Here's a link to some photos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/AcKzjoKGctKNUXi26

Yikes! Yeah, the peel-and-stick stuff can really be a hassle. I’d recommend removing the towel bar and fixing the wall first by sanding it down and then repainting, preferably with a paint that's got primer in it too. The peel-off should never have been that large, so it sounds like you might not have used a proper primer initially. When you reattach the towel bar, use screws into a stud, or toggle bolts for a more secure hold.

I used a paint combo that included primer too.
