Why Are My Measurements Off by a Quarter Inch?

I recently took some measurements, but I'm noticing something strange: all my inside measurements are coming back about 1/4" longer than the outside ones. I checked again, and now the difference is even more, at about 5/16"! Oh, and there's also a new door in the way that I don't remember being there. Any idea what could be causing these discrepancies?

Are you sure you’ve got the right tools for the job? Sometimes a miscalibrated tape measure can give you wonky results. Also, it kind of sounds like you're living in a twisty plot—like that House of Leaves book. No fun! Good luck!

It sounds like you might be experiencing issues with how you're reading your tape measure. If you're trying to measure in a corner, it can really throw off your numbers. Make sure you’re positioning the tape correctly and that it’s flat against the surfaces you're measuring.

This could be a skill issue—sometimes misreading the tape or not aligning it properly can lead to inaccurate measurements. Also, could you provide more details about what exactly you’re measuring? That might help narrow it down!
