When’s the Best Time to Aerate My Lawn?

Hey everyone! My lawn has gotten a bit patchy lately, and the summer heat hasn't been helping. I'm planning to put down some grass seed in the spring, but I want to know when I should aerate the lawn first. I've read that aeration should be done every 2-3 years. Would September be a good time for this? I was thinking maybe after some rain to soften the ground. What do you all think?

Yeah, September is a solid choice for aeration! Just keep your fingers crossed for no late summer heat waves. It’s also a great time to scarify and seed, especially since we don’t get much rain in April anymore. After you aerate and scarify, make sure to overseed heavily and use a gentle fertilizer like 10-10-10. And avoid mowing for about six weeks—when you do, set it to the highest setting to give your new grass a fighting chance!

Thanks for the tips! What's the best order to do the steps in? Should I scarify first, then aerate, and finally overseed and feed?
