How to Properly Wire a 12V A/C Through My Solar Controller?

I have a 12V solar setup with a Renogy 40A MPPT controller, and when we got the system, the wiring was already in place. Recently, I added an Outequp Pro 10K A/C unit, and it's currently connected directly to the battery, bypassing the controller. I want to route the A/C through the controller for better management. Is the best option to splice the 4-gauge cables on the output, or should I leave it as it is? What would you recommend?

Wiring the A/C directly to the load output is a bad idea; it could fry the controller as soon as the A/C turns on. Instead, consider using a relay to manage the load. This way, you can switch it based on the controller's output. Just be sure to choose a relay that can handle the current!

It's crucial to provide more details, such as the exact model of your A/C. Not all controllers can handle high current loads, especially when dealing with A/C units. Make sure your Renogy controller can manage the output properly before making any changes.
