I'm curious to hear everyone's favorite stain colors and brands! I know it's a subjective topic, but I'm looking for some insights and opinions from the community.

I've only stained a couple of projects myself, mainly because I like to showcase the natural beauty of the wood. But when I have used stain, I've tried a spirit stain. It worked fine, but I wouldn't recommend it unless there's no other option. I typically avoid heavy finishes.
Honestly, I think stains are overkill for hobbyist woodworking. They really shine in flooring and factories where different pieces of wood need to match. If you're working with wood from the same source, you might not need any stain at all.

I get that! I usually work with softer woods like pine. I don’t like the way it fades naturally, so I prefer to add some stain to keep it looking fresh.
