Looking for Affordable Houseplants That Are Easy to Care For

I'm on the hunt for some budget-friendly houseplants! I already have two pothos plants but would love to add more to my collection. Unfortunately, I'm not great with succulents, and I live in a small college town where the only places to buy plants are Walmart and Lowe's. Any recommendations? Thanks a bunch!

Thanksgiving and Christmas cacti are great options too! They can grow quite big and bloom beautifully each year. If you're looking for something festive, these are lovely.

I've never had one, but my neighbor has a beautiful Thanksgiving cactus! If I see one, I'll definitely pick it up. Thanks for the suggestion!

Check out your local grocery stores! I found my two prayer plants for just $5 each. You might be surprised at what you can find.

Just keep in mind your lighting situation and how often you forget to water. I find that having a north-facing window helps, but I tend to forget watering too until my plants show signs of thirst.

Spider plants are fantastic! They're cheap, easy to care for, and adaptable to most lighting conditions. Also, peace lilies and anthuriums are usually pretty affordable at supermarkets. If you're looking for something that thrives on neglect, consider snake plants or smaller ZZ plants—you just have to be careful with watering them since they're from arid regions. Happy plant hunting!

Thanks so much! I'll have to keep my eyes out for these plants! Now I've got a list of plants to look for.
