I'm planning to mount some speakers on the wall and I'm considering using a 1/4 inch lag bolt. I'm wondering if drilling a 7/32 pilot hole will offer enough grip for it. Could anyone share some insights? Thanks in advance!

By the way, just for reference, a 7/32" hole is about 5.56mm while a 1/4" lag bolt is about 6.35mm. So you're digging a hole that's pretty close in size. If you've done it right, you should still have enough grip, but always double-check your fit before fully committing!
