What are some good alternatives to diesel generators for emergency power?

I've just let go of my old diesel generator, and I can't help but feel relieved! It was noisy, emitted fumes, and contributed to fossil fuel use – not great for the environment. I've made the switch to an Anker Solix F3000 portable power station. While it's not a perfect fit, I appreciate that it's quieter and a cleaner option that doesn't break the bank. I'm feeling more sustainable now! I'm curious to hear from you all: What alternatives do you recommend for backup power in emergencies?

I’ve got 16kW of solar panels with 45kWh of battery storage. It works great for me! If you can couple solar with your Anker setup, you could significantly extend your backup power during outages, especially on sunny days.

The Anker is a cool choice, but keep in mind its 3kWh capacity isn’t huge. It’s more suited for short-term outages, unless you really manage your energy use. If you need something with more power for longer outages, you might need to look at bigger solutions or combine it with other energy sources.

True! It's all about finding the right balance. Have you considered solar panels to supplement that power station?

Just a heads up, what happens when the Anker runs out of juice and it’s cloudy? You might need a backup plan or other options to keep power available when sunlight is low. Just something to think about!
