I'm curious to know what plants you all have seen flourish in shady areas, especially when they're usually recommended for full or partial sun. For example, I've managed to grow a peony quite well in shade—only getting about 1-2 hours of direct sunlight daily. What about you?

I have a David Austin rose called 'Generous Gardener' that's actually doing really well in shade! At first, it seemed slow to grow since I planted it last autumn, but now it’s around 4 feet tall and has flowered multiple times, which completely surprised me!
I've had great success with perennial cornflowers in heavy shade. They bloom about a month later than the ones in full sun, but they really thrive. Definitely a worthwhile choice for shady spots!
I’ve got six echinaceas growing from seed in different pots, trying to see which does best. Interestingly, the one getting about 2 hours of morning sun is thriving the most, while the one in full sun isn’t doing as well! They haven't flowered yet, so maybe they need even more sun for that.

I completely relate! Mine took a while to get going too, but it’s amazing how well they adapt. Seeing those flowers makes it all worth it!
