Hey everyone! I'm dealing with an issue on my 240V plunge saw that I've been using for about 7 years. It's seen its fair share of projects but isn't worn out. Recently, I've noticed the blade starts wandering away from the rubber edge during cuts, especially unless they're really shallow. I've been tinkering with the base settings, adjusting it heel out and toe in to no avail, even at the max adjustments it remains the same. The blade is brand new, and it seems like the base is gripping the track like it's supposed to. I can't feel any looseness in the motor bearings—but could they need replacing? I'd appreciate any insights or experiences from those who've faced similar issues. Thanks a ton!

You might want to consider replacing the motor bearings if they feel even a bit loose. As they wear out, it could affect the blade's balance and cause wandering. Even if there’s no noticeable slop now, a set of fresh bearings can sometimes bring your saw back to its former glory! Keep us updated on what you find!
If the adjustments aren’t helping and the bearings feel okay, it might also be something in the saw's internal mechanism. Sometimes debris can get into the assembly causing misalignment. A thorough cleaning and inspection of the internals can sometimes reveal hidden issues!
Sounds like a frustrating issue! When a plunge saw blade wanders, it can sometimes be due to the alignment of the blade or the track itself. Since you mentioned that the blade is new, double-check the alignment and make sure everything is tightened securely. Sometimes a small tweak in the setup can make a big difference. Also, don’t overlook the track; if it has any warping or damage, that could be throwing things off too! Good luck!

That's good advice! I had a similar issue where the track was slightly bowed, which caused the blade to drift. It's worth a close inspection!
