I'm wondering how cautious I need to be with lead acid batteries, especially since I'm planning on using one for a trail camera setup. I tend to err on the side of caution with batteries in general. I want to build or buy a box to house the battery and controller, which will be outdoors. I won't be checking it every day unless absolutely necessary. My main concern is avoiding overcharging and potential fire risks, but I'm curious if there are other considerations I should keep in mind when it comes to safety with these batteries.

Another thing to keep in mind is to make sure your battery box is mouse-proof. If there’s even the tiniest gap, you could end up with a messy situation! It’s worth investing in a box that can keep those critters out, or else you'll be dealing with a pile of mouse poop, and that’s definitely not what you want for your trail camera setup.
