I'm renovating my whole house, and I'm currently working on the bathrooms. I'm using a Tile-Redi shower pan with a flashing kit, and I'm putting cement board up on the walls. Before tiling, I plan to apply thinset and RedGard to the cement board. There's a window in the shower area that I'll be framing out with cement board. What sealant would be best to waterproof the vinyl window to the cement board? Would silicone work, or should I opt for a sealant from Kerdi or GoBoard? Thanks for your help!

Using mold-resistant silicone is a solid option for areas exposed to water. Just make sure to add a shower curtain to keep water off the window and ledge. It’ll give you an extra layer of protection!
Also, consider sloping the window ledge slightly inward so any water drains towards the shower. And yeah, a shower curtain or even an interior window pane can help a lot. Trust me, without any protection, it’s more of a matter of when you'll have issues, not if!
I’d recommend using Kerdi-Fix for this job. It’s specifically designed for wet environments and adheres really well, keeping things water-tight.

Good call on adding a curtain! Definitely a smart backup plan!
