Best Way to Install a Post for a Sail Shade on Concrete?

Hey everyone! I'm planning to install a sail shade and I need some advice on setting up a post. I've come across the suggestion to dig a hole, pour concrete, and use a pressure-treated post. However, I found a post base that fits a 4x4 post and can be attached to a concrete slab. My slab is solid, but I want to ensure it's sturdy enough, especially since I live in Southern California and face strong Santa Ana winds, although we don't get hurricanes. Are those post bases reliable for this kind of application, or are there better solutions for mounting on concrete?

I recommend digging a 12-inch hole for the post and using concrete to secure it. Honestly, those brackets you linked aren’t intended for this kind of load. They might not hold up well against the winds you get.

I think you're mistaken about those brackets. They actually can work for this setup if installed correctly.
