I recently bought my first house and had the driveway resealed for $155, plus I added a gallon of crack fill for $99. However, the final result doesn't look as good as I expected, and I'm not sure if I got what I paid for. I've seen my neighbors' driveways looking way better, yet I've heard they might have spent significantly more, like $500-$1000. Just wondering if this is the typical outcome for a basic sealing job or if I should be concerned about the quality. I'm considering asking a friendly elderly couple nearby what they spent since they seem to have a much nicer driveway. Any advice would be appreciated! If you’re up for it, consider doing it yourself! You can get way better results for around $200 or even less. I just redid my driveway DIY-style and I'm super happy with how it turned out. The results can be pretty impressive with a little effort!
Your driveway looks pretty worn, and it may need more than just crack fill to look decent again. The unevenness and cracks suggest that the foundation might be failing. It might be time to start budgeting for a complete replacement with better materials. Adding some gravel could help in the meantime, but it would be best to consult with professionals for a long-term fix.
It sounds like you really got the bare minimum for your budget! $250 for a job like that is quite low, so it’s not surprising the result isn’t stellar. From the pics, it looks like your driveway might have some significant issues like crumbling or poor base support. A reputable company might have advised you to repave instead of just sealing it. The good news is that you don’t have major potholes, so a full replacement can wait for now, even if it’s mostly a cosmetic issue.

Looks great! Do you have any tips or advice for someone looking to tackle a DIY driveway project? I might need to look into this.
