I've had a basil plant all spring that I got from the grocery store, and I'm happy to report that it's been thriving in my sunny garden here in Michigan! However, I've noticed the leaves have become a bit tougher and sharper than they used to be. Is that normal? I think it's time to say goodbye to my basil soon, so I'm looking for ideas on how to use it up before winter. I was thinking about making some pesto but would love to hear any other suggestions too. Any thoughts?

It sounds like your basil is starting to flower, which can make the leaves tougher and a bit more bitter. You should definitely harvest it soon! Making pesto is a fantastic idea—I just made a batch and froze it in ice cube trays. This way, I can pop out a couple of cubes whenever I need some. Enjoy!
If you’re into Asian cuisine, consider making Spicy Thai Basil Chicken (Pad Krapow Gai). It’s super easy to whip up and lets you use a lot of basil at once. Plus, it's really light and flavorful!
I love Asian food! Thanks!
