I'm dealing with a strange smell that seems to show up every day around 2:00 or 3:00 PM, which coincides with the hottest part of the day. It's noticeable in both our kitchen and our master bedroom, even though they're on opposite sides of the house. We recently renovated the kitchen and had plumbers come over to flush the system, but the smell persists. We also have a crawl space, and I'm wondering if that could be related.

Do you have a water softener? Sometimes they can produce a smell if they're not functioning right.
Could you describe what the smell is like? Knowing whether it's musty, rotten, or something else could help narrow it down. Also, are you connected to a city sewer system or do you have a septic tank?
That sounds like it might be a crawl space or venting problem. The heat definitely intensifies odors, so if there's a small gap or an unsealed vent pipe, that could be why it gets worse at that time. I suggest checking your crawl space for any moisture or pests, and also have a look at your vent stacks. Sealing around any pipes under your sinks can definitely make a difference too.

Great tip! I've had a similar issue, and sealing those gaps around pipes helped eliminate a lot of the odors.
