Hey everyone! I'm planning to surprise my girlfriend by remodeling her bedroom for her upcoming birthday. I'm thinking about adding a chair rail with picture frame molding both above and below it, but I'm facing a challenge due to her unusual window placements. Since I'm not experienced with these kinds of projects, I wanted to get some advice from you all on how to make this look nice. Should I cover all the walls with the chair rail, and just put the picture molding on the walls without windows? I'd love your thoughts on the number of boxes to create, their size, and placement. I'm also open to any other suggestions if you think a different approach would work better. Check out the photos of her room [here](https://imgur.com/a/DWBXSui). Thanks for your help!

I found this YouTube playlist that has a ton of helpful info on molding projects: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLllm151EZBMPF5HkU_3fb7XyBqsNZKopD&si=jbpFj1I8TpgYchCP. While it’s a great resource, I think your main concern is how to handle the picture frame molding around those weird windows. If you stick to just the chair rail on all walls and then get creative with box sizes on the window walls, it could turn out nicely!
Honestly, I’m not a big fan of chair rails in bedrooms—they tend to look messy, especially with smaller furniture. I think if you added some larger pieces like a dresser or an armoire, it would really help bring the room together. A fresh coat of paint could do wonders too, maybe consider an accent wall for some added flair. Just my two cents!

I agree, that playlist is awesome! But I'm particularly worried about incorporating molding where the windows are placed. It’s good to hear your thoughts about the boxes; maybe experimenting with sizes could be a cool approach!
