How to Convince My Wife to Try Our New Bidet?

Asked By CuriousCat123 On

I recently decided to install a bidet after dealing with some health issues, including hemorrhoids and a stomach bug—really made me rethink my bathroom habits. I absolutely love it and wish I had made the switch years ago! However, my wife is totally against it. She refuses to even try it and finds the whole idea of 'cold water spraying up your butt' pretty weird. Has anyone else faced this with their partner? Did they ever come around or accept it at all?

Honestly, if she doesn't want to use it, that's on her. My wife doesn't use mine either, but she doesn't mind its presence. It's not harming her! I love mine; I installed warm water and a heated seat, and I can't imagine going back. If she wants to avoid it, that's her choice, but she shouldn't pressure you to get rid of it, especially since it's been beneficial for you. My friends have tried it and always end up loving it.

Exactly! My wife didn't want to use ours at first, but now she can't live without it. Everyone thinks they're weird until they try it!

For real! Once people experience the comfort of a bidet, they usually change their tune. It's just way cleaner!

I totally relate! My wife was also super hesitant at first, but curiosity eventually got the best of her. Now she can't imagine life without it. What I did was just keep using it for myself, and slowly she warmed up. Don't pressure her too much, just give it time! She'll eventually see the benefits, especially how much cleaner it feels.

Yeah, my husband was totally against it too! It took him a few weeks, but that first time he used it, he was sold!

Exactly! Sometimes it just takes a little patience and allowing them to come around on their own.

You definitely shouldn't get rid of it! If she doesn't want to use it, that's fine, but it's a great option for you. Plus, it's good for the environment and healthier for you. I think your wife just needs some time to adjust to the idea. Maybe you could even help her understand it's not as odd as she thinks? When people realise they're cleaner, they typically can’t go back!

Agreed! It's strange how people can be so resistant to something that improves hygiene. She'll come around eventually!

Just tell her it's simply a cleaner alternative to toilet paper! That convinced my sister!
