I got a quote for $1800 for installing a 25 square foot backsplash, which includes demo of the current backsplash and also some sheetrock work. It feels a bit over the top to me. Does this price sound reasonable to others?

It really depends on the specifics. Installing tile can be a labor-intensive job, especially if you want it done professionally. Considering the demo and sheetrocking included, $1800 isn't too far off for quality work. But it might vary based on your location and the type of tile you choose.
In my experience, $1800 could be a solid price or on the higher side. For a simple subway tile backsplash, many people quote around $1000 just for installation. If you're including demo and sheetrock, it might cover those costs well. If you're worried about the price, make sure to get a few more quotes to compare.
Sounds about right in some areas, but it’s hard to say without seeing the job. If it’s in a big city with a high cost of living, it adds up quickly. But if you’re in a cheaper region, this might feel on the high side. Just remember, good tile work is worth paying for!
