I'm looking for tips on how to properly clean an old, unfinished concrete basement floor. Since the concrete isn't sealed or painted, I'm a bit unsure about the best approach. My initial thought is to sweep and vacuum up as much dirt and dust as I can, and then either pressure wash it or scrub it with a mild cleaner. However, I've never tackled a project like this before, so I could really use some advice!

I vacuumed my basement and then painted it with Drylok floor paint. It made a big difference and helped with cleaning in the future. Definitely worth considering!
I recommend using trisodium phosphate mixed with water and scrubbing it down with a long-handled brush. After that, vacuum it up with a wet vacuum and follow it up with a clear water rinse, also vacuuming that up. Just remember to wear gloves, boots, a respirator, and goggles while doing it!
I've got a similar situation! I was planning on scrubbing the walls and floor using a stiff bristle brush with Dawn dish soap. Just be cautious about not spraying water everywhere—I want to avoid a big mess!
Totally get that! I've seen pressure washing suggested, but I’d rather keep the water use limited if possible.

Great advice! Don’t forget those safety gear pieces—it makes a big difference.
