I've been noticing way more ants on my zinnias than usual lately, and I'm wondering if they're causing any harm. How can I safely remove them without hurting my plants?

Generally, ants aren’t harmful to zinnias; they sometimes feed on nectar or pollen. I've had some experience when a specific kind of ant damaged the base of a couple of my zinnias, though. So, keep an eye out for any unusual damage at the base!

Thanks for sharing that! I’ll definitely keep an eye on the base of the plants just in case. Hopefully it’s just nectar/pollen feeding and nothing more 🙂

First, check to see if those ants are just roaming around or if they’re actually farming aphids on your plants. While ants usually don’t harm zinnias, aphids can definitely be a problem. Take a close look to see what's really going on with your plants!

Thanks for pointing that out! I’ll check closely for aphids—didn't realize ants might just be there for them. Hopefully it’s just the ants wandering. Appreciate it! ❤️

Honestly, just leave the ants alone. They’re usually not a big deal!
