I'm trying to sort through my options for Andersen windows without having a lengthy phone call with a rep. I'm considering the 200 series mainly for cost-effectiveness, and I've got several questions: Can I get the 24" x 72" 200 series window in a fractional layout? Also, what's the difference in mullions between panes of glass versus large sheets in different series? How can I find prices for these windows without having to call Andersen's customer service? What kind of composite material do they use instead of wood? How thick is the external trim on various Andersen series? Lastly, which Andersen series come in different materials (like plastic, wood, and composite) and how much do prices vary across these materials? Thanks in advance!

Andersen (with an E) generally makes solid windows. They offer several series, including the 100, 200, and 400 series. Just a heads up, Renewal By Andersen (RBA), which is their replacement service, tends to be overpriced and has a shady reputation. For pricing, you'll want to contact a local dealer instead of Andersen directly. Home Depot can help, but their staff might not have all the answers; a local lumberyard or an independent contractor could be more knowledgeable.
Andersen windows have a reputation for being pricey and sometimes their sales practices are questionable. I recommend shopping around—there are plenty of small contractors who can offer you better quality windows at a lower price. Just make sure they are licensed and insured. Many local guys still use Andersen products because they do make some solid windows, just avoid Renewal by Andersen for the best deals.
If you're looking at Andersen windows, double-check if they're from the regular line or Renewal by Andersen. The latter is often seen as a rip-off! I had four sliding glass doors priced at $60k from Andersen, while Pella quoted me just $20k. I went with Pella in the end and it was a good choice. Also, check out a YouTube channel called Houston Window Experts; it's super helpful for learning about different window options.

Definitely check the difference between Andersen and Renewal by Andersen. Not all products are created equal, and many small places will still have high-quality Andersen windows without the hefty price tag.
