Do I Need to Let Pothos Cuttings Callous Before Propagating?

I have a beautiful pothos houseplant that's really healthy, and I'm considering taking some cuttings to propagate and bring a little of her to work. But I'm a bit anxious about cutting into this lovely plant and potentially failing to propagate the cuttings. I've come across different advice; some say pothos cuttings don't really need to callous as long as they have a node and a few healthy leaves. I'm curious about how others propagate their pothos and what has worked best for them.

I've never bothered with letting them callous, and honestly, they root faster than I can pot them! So, it’s really up to you.

I've propagated pothos cuttings in water multiple times, and they root really easily without needing to callous over. Just pop them in a jar with fresh water and good light, and change the water every few days. Once you see roots around 1-2 inches long, they can be planted in soil. Just be careful not to over-pot them!

Ah, good, I was definitely thinking of water-propping. Thank you!

I usually let my cuttings callous for a couple of hours just because it feels better to me. But I've also had success without doing that. Using a propagation fertilizer like Prop Drops really helps my cuttings to root quickly!

That's good to know! Thank you!
