Need Help Choosing a Toilet for My Renovation

Hey everyone! I'm renovating my master bath and considering options for a toilet. I'm eyeing built-in bidet smart toilets, but they're way out of my price range. Looking for recommendations on a basic toilet that's sleek and fits into a small space, with the plan to add a bidet seat later (I'm having an outlet installed for that). I'm confused about why there's such a big price difference between a $500 Kohler and a $200 American Standard. I just need it to flush well and be reliable since it's in an upstairs bathroom! ?

From my search, I’ve found that a lot of folks rave about the Toto Drake toilets for their ease of cleaning and quiet but powerful flushing. For now, I’m just going with a basic $100 CAD toilet from Costco—it’s decent enough, with a MaP rating of 1000 and water-saving features. I plan to upgrade later because my wife wants a skirted model that sits lower. Just keep it simple for now!

I’ve had good luck with American Standard toilets, especially the dual flush ones. They’re not fancy but do the job. If you want to add a bidet seat later, go for something that’s sturdy. The pricier models don’t always mean better flushes—most just cater to aesthetics. It's about finding what fits your needs.
