I've got a bit of a drywall disaster on my hands and I'm planning to tackle the repairs myself. I'm looking for recommendations for the easiest drywall mud to use for the third coat/finish, specifically available in Western Canada. Also, I'd love some advice on the tools I need. Should I go with a 10 inch or a 12 inch knife, and do I need a smaller knife for corners and screws? If yes, what size?
I'm considering this all-purpose mud from Home Depot: https://www.homedepot.ca/product/cgc-synko-lite-line-all-purpose-drywall-compound-18-l-pail/1001854653 but I'm uncertain since it's lightweight and all-purpose. Is a 'finish' one a better option? I found a finish compound that isn't premixed: https://www.homedepot.ca/product/cgc-synko-lite-finish-drywall-compound-17-l-carton/1000168626. How difficult is it to mix by hand? I don't have a power drill or mixer, although I might borrow my uncle's drill to get a mixer. Any thoughts?

I’d suggest going with the bucket one you mentioned. Just make sure to stir it well with a mixing paddle before using it. If it feels too thick, you can add a tiny bit of water to get it to the right consistency, but be careful not to overdo it—once you add too much, you can’t take it back! Just add a little at a time to make it easier to work with.

Just a heads-up, all-purpose mud is a bit tougher to sand compared to finish mud, so keep that in mind when you're choosing!
