How Can I Add a Ceiling Fan with My Existing Recessed Light Switch?

I'm trying to get a ceiling fan installed in my bedroom, but I want to keep things simple. Right now, I've got one switch controlling my recessed lights, and I'd prefer not to add another switch if I can avoid it. I've heard about some fans that are controlled via remote, and I'm considering one of those. Is it possible to run a remote-controlled fan by wiring it from an outlet in the attic? Would that work, and is it a good solution?

I recently installed a Hunter light/fan combo in my house, and it works great with just one wall switch. The remote lets you control both the light and the fan separately, which is handy. When you turn off the wall switch, it remembers what was on last. So, if only the fan was on, it will just turn the fan on again when you switch it back. Makes it super easy!

That sounds awesome! Can you share a link to the unit you got? I’m curious about where it goes—does it need to be in the attic or can I put it in the switch box?
