I recently brought home a couple of new baby plants, a snake plant and an aloe, and unfortunately discovered they came with fungus gnats due to the succulent soil I used for repotting. I've been trying to manage the situation with sticky traps and mosquito dunks, but I'm struggling to find the right balance between letting the soil dry out and using the dunks. I even put the plants outside yesterday to get some warmth and sunshine. Should I just go ahead and repot them with fresh soil? So far, I haven't seen any gnats in my other plants since they are isolated. Any tips would be super appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Hey! So, just a heads up, the mosquito dunks are great for killing larvae but don’t get rid of the eggs or adults. You can mix up some diluted isopropyl alcohol (70% alcohol, a drop of dish soap, and water) to spray on the adults and even on the soil a bit. It’ll kill those adults right away. You’ll just need to keep repeating this to catch any new eggs that hatch.

Thanks for the tip! I’ve been careful with the insecticidal soap and sticky traps too. The last time I had gnats, they wiped out all my plants, so I'm determined not to let that happen again!
