How Can I Make My Motorbike’s Horn Sound with Turn Signals?

Hey everyone! I'm working on a project to wire a small circuit for my motorbike. The idea is to have the horn sound whenever the turn signals are activated. The turn signals operate on 12V DC from the flasher relay. I was thinking of connecting the anodes of two diodes to the turn signal switch, and then joining the cathodes to a relay to trigger the horn. I might also want to include a variable resistor to adjust the volume of the horn. Does this setup sound correct? Any advice on the component values I should use would be awesome!

This type of modification is generally considered illegal in many places. Plus, it could create distractions on the road, which could lead to accidents. It’s important to keep safety in mind when making any modifications to your bike, so I’d advise against it.

Thanks for the feedback! I didn’t think about the safety aspect. I'll definitely reconsider my project.

Honestly, I'm not sure why you'd want the horn to blast every time the indicator is used. That could be really annoying, especially in traffic! Most horns are mechanical, and just adjusting the voltage doesn’t really change the volume—it’s either on or off. Maybe reconsider this idea?

Yeah, and it's actually illegal in a lot of places to modify your bike like that. Just food for thought!
