Should I Fix My Old Jenn Air Dishwasher or Buy a New One?

My 9-year-old Jenn Air dishwasher has some major issues—specifically, the wash motor has died, and I'm being quoted $475 to replace it, including parts and labor. On top of that, the bottom rack is rusting and the wheels are coming off. I'm torn between fixing it or investing in a new one. If I do go for a new dishwasher, I'm hearing mixed reviews about Miele and Bosch. Any recommendations or advice?

Honestly, I wouldn’t put more money into a Jenn Air. I find them really overpriced. Old dishwashers sometimes clean better than new ones since they use more water. But if it were me, I’d go for replacing it.

Definitely replace it! The parts on your old dishwasher are just as worn out as the motor, so they could fail anytime. For a good mid-range option, check out the Bosch 500 series; you can often snag it for around $1000 during sales. Just curious, what's your budget?

I’d say just get a new dishwasher. With your old one, you never know what else might go wrong down the line. Newer dishwashers come with warranties, which is a huge plus. I've had a Miele before, and I loved how the cutlery tray laid flat!
