How to Fit a Bathroom in a Tight Space?

I'm looking to add a bathroom to my house but I'm pretty limited on space, with dimensions around 8x4'10". I've designed a floor plan I'm considering and could really use your thoughts on it. Specifically, I want to include a bathtub for future kids, but I'm thinking of going with a shorter model that's 54" long. Is it a good idea to fit that in?

The layout looks decent, but I’d recommend moving that second sink away from the tub. Maybe consider adding a shelf in that space instead; it'd be more useful.

Thanks! I didn’t want to waste space, but it is feeling cramped already, so losing the extra sink might make the most sense.

I think you should lose that second sink next to the toilet. It would be more practical to have a countertop there instead. Plus, the 54" tub really only makes sense for bathing kids or pets, or if you plan to shower in it.

Thanks for the suggestion! I like the countertop idea. I'm torn between the smaller tub and a shower, especially with future kids in mind. Any tips on fitting the tub along the back wall?

Have you thought about shifting the door? A single vanity with the door closer to one wall could really open things up and make room for a bigger tub.

If I were you, I'd slide the toilet towards the back wall and place a single sink on the right side, about 24 inches wide. It’ll feel less cramped this way, even if you lose some storage.
