Best Places to Find Quality Wood for Woodworking?

Hey everyone! I'm getting back into woodworking after a long break, and I'm curious about finding high-quality wood. I'm not looking for specific stores, but rather, I'm interested in where I should start looking for good wood. Any suggestions? ?

I’ve had a tough time with exotic wood sellers for smaller quantities, but I found a good list of sources online—it’s worth checking out! Just be careful with quality; I learned the hard way that you often get what you pay for. Now I stick to reliable sellers even if they charge a bit more. Also, keep an eye on Facebook Marketplace; you can find some hidden gems there!

Check out local lumber yards and mills—they're the way to go! Just ensure you avoid places that mainly sell construction materials. If you share your area, folks may be able to help you track down some local suppliers or recommend places online.

Absolutely! I'm in eastern Pennsylvania, and there are mills all over the place. It's not hard to find good options.

One of my go-tos is a local guy I found on Craigslist who has great prices on hardwood and even delivers. I used to rely on a mill that was a bit of a drive, but finding local connections can really save you some cash! If I need just a board or two, I hit up Woodcraft since it's close.
