I'm a beginner gardener and recently planted a hydrangea in a west-facing border. Now I'm thinking about relocating it to a shadier spot in my garden's back border. Is it alright to move it so soon after planting?

You should be fine moving it now! Since it's only been a week, it hasn't established a deep root system yet. Just make sure to do it soon so it can start adapting before the colder weather hits. Just handle it gently and it should be just fine!
Thanks everyone for your responses! I'm feeling really anxious about gardening, but it's good to know I'm not alone in this. I appreciate the support!
Yeah, relocating it this early isn’t a big deal. I’ve moved my plants right after planting without any issues. They usually come out pretty easily at this stage. Just keep up with watering it for a bit afterward to help it settle into its new spot.

Gardening is all about learning through experiences, so don’t be too hard on yourself. Every misstep is a step toward becoming better! Just keep it watered for a few days after you move it, and you'll do great!
