Dealing with Mice in an Inaccessible Ceiling

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a bind. My wife and I are gearing up to sell our house, but just recently I've been hearing the pitter-patter of little feet in our attic at night. The issue is that this part of the ceiling and attic is totally unreachable—there's no access point in our old house, and it's like a separate roof up there. I can't even figure out how the mice got up there in the first place! I'm wondering if I should just hope they leave on their own since there's no clear way for them to get into the living space, or should I consider cutting open the ceiling to set some traps? I'm looking for advice, especially with open houses just around the corner!

I totally get your frustration! I dealt with a similar problem and I found that using professional-grade poison in sachets was super effective. You should check them out as they help track if they're getting moved around. Just a tip: those store-bought baits are usually pretty weak, and if they’ve bred, you'll need something stronger and they tend to run along walls, so place the bait boxes there for better results.

Exactly! Those pro-grade bait boxes made a huge difference for me too. Avoid the cheap stuff, and definitely put the traps along the walls.
