I recently had a bit of a disaster with my sink. The handle broke off the faucet, so we decided it was a good time to replace the whole thing. As we were unhooking the sink from underneath, we found out there was a leak, and the wood was rotting. We ordered a new cabinet and sink and started pulling the old one out, only to discover there's no floor beneath it! After cleaning out the junk that had accumulated under there, I'm not sure what my next steps should be. Any suggestions?

When you say there’s no floor, it’s important to clarify what that means. Typically, under cabinets, you might just find the subfloor without any finished flooring like tile or laminate. That’s usually normal. However, if there’s a deep hole leading to a basement or crawlspace, that’s not typical and definitely needs addressing. Maybe some pictures would help clarify!

There’s actually a 2-inch deep hole in what seems to be a concrete slab, but there’s some concrete below it as well.
