How Do I Remove a Broken Screw Head Stuck in My Shower Tile?

I was trying to remove a handbar in my shower when one of the screws stripped, and now the head has broken off. There's just a post sticking out, and I've tried various methods to get it out without success. Any suggestions on how to tackle this?

If there's enough of the post sticking out, you could superglue a small object onto it, let it dry, and then try twisting it out. Just be careful to preserve the tile underneath, as that could complicate things if you have to drill.

I could try that. I’m not sure what it’s attached to, but I couldn’t budge it with pliers.

You might want to start with some vice-grip locking pliers; they can get a good grip on the remaining post. If that doesn’t work, there are specialized drill bits designed specifically to pull out broken screws—just make sure to use them at a low speed to avoid damaging anything around the tile.

I could try that too!
